Travel coast to coast with your Space Coast Symphony Orchestra in a gripping program that celebrates the beauty, power, and mystery of nature. Aaron leads your orchestra in Kenneth Fuchs exciting work, Atlantic Riband, inspired by the SS United States‘ record-breaking maiden voyage.  Atlantic Riband evokes the struggle and ultimate victory of ocean-crossing immigrants to America in an orchestral showpiece of power and splendor.  Alan Hovhaness’ symphonic poem, And God Created Great Whales, uses aleatoric sections, pentatonic melodies, and whale sounds to create a piece that captures the epic scope of giant whales in the ocean, the ruthless chaos and majestic beauty of nature, and humanity’s impact on the natural world.  The rousing program features two world premieres, from composers R. Michael Daugherty and Christopher Marshall.  Sopranos Mary Anne Kruger and Amy Cofield return to the stage together to present Marhsall’s evocative, “Canco Del Mar.”  A Florida Story, “A Celebration of Vero Beach,” tells the love story of W.E Sexton and his bride Elsebeth in a narrative describing Florida one hundred years in the past and life in a small frontier town.  The work will be narrated by Indian River Poet Laureate, Sean Sexton. The concert is rounded out with one of the most popular and rousing works in the orchestral repertoire, Smetana's Die Moldau
